Last Tuesday, I had the opportunity to attend my first event with Ladies That UX in Barcelona. It was such an enriching and fun experience. The event, entitled "UX Design: challenges and opportunities in the current context, "was organized as a Panel discussionwhere we could explore issues of relevance in the UX design.
This format was perfect for sharing our experiences and knowledge, as well as networking in a distended and collaborative environment. I was surprised by the level of connection we achieved among all the attendees; the energy and disposition of each of us made it a unique and valuable event.
Thematics and Questions to Guide the Conversation
For the round table to be smooth and to address various issues, each group was assigned a specific theme of conversation. This approach made the exchange more focused, allowing us to deepen on key aspects of each area of the UX design.
The organizers even provided us with a set of wild questions at each table to help us start the dialogue and not run out of issues to deal with. These questions ranged from the most common challenges in UX projects to reflections on how we project the future of design in a context that changes so quickly, especially on artificial intelligence issues.
It was a great idea because it allowed even those of us who were new to the group to integrate smoothly and feel part of the conversation from the very first moment!
Some of the questions that most helped us break the ice and guide the conversations were:
- What is the greatest challenge you currently face in your UX / IU role?
- What tools do you consider indispensable for your workflow?
- How do you think the role of UX will evolve in the coming years?
- How do we face the need to design with an inclusive and accessible approach in each project?
The structure of the thematic tables and these guide questions not only facilitated the conversation, but allowed us all to participate actively. Each table addressed its subject from a variety of perspectives, and the discussions were extremely enriching.
What surprised me pleasantly was the atmosphere so collaborative and empowering that was created at the event. Sometimes, in professional spaces, especially in technology, it is common to find an implicit competition. However, in Ladies That UX, the focus was entirely on sharing, learning and supporting us. I felt that I was surrounded by people with a common mission: improve user experience in all possible ways and contribute to making the design more inclusive, intuitive and accessible.
Networking Bingo
After the round-table session, the event continued with a dynamic of networking which, to tell the truth, had never experienced before: a networking bingo.
The activity was as fun as it was useful as it made it easier for all of us to meet other partners in an unconventional way. Instead of a formal introduction, the bingo encouraged us to interact with different people, looking for those specific features we had to mark on our bingo card.
It was a fun way to break the ice and find connections that we might not have discovered in a more traditional networking format. Besides, it was a perfect time to laugh and connect in a genuine way!

Reflections on the UX event
Attending events like that of Ladies That UX Barcelona reminds me of the importance of belonging to a community that not only understands the challenges of our day to day, but also offers a safe and supportive space to discuss them and learn together. Each conversation, from the specific UX themes to the more informal talks during the bingo, helped me gain a broader perspective on the impact and responsibility of our role in UX / IU.
If you're a professional of UX / IU or you just have an interest in this field, I encourage you to participate in these events. It's not just an amazing opportunity to make networkingbut also to meet people with similar ideas and values who, like you, seek to make design a transformative tool. I hope I can continue to attend more events of Ladies That UX and see how this community grows!
