Figma Meets Friends of Figma Barcelona 2025

On March 27, Barcelona became once again an epicenter of digital design with a very special event: Figure meet Friends of Figure Barcelona. In this edition, held in space Casa Rius, we had the opportunity to listen directly to the Figure, connect with other professionals in the sector and enjoy a unique experience that combined learning, networking and a lot of creative energy.

Organised by Friends of Figure Barcelona —the world's largest community within the FoF network—, the event brought together designers, developers, product managers and tool enthusiasts to explore how to create digital experiences "from within" Figure. A meeting with high value content, great guests and an absolutely unique atmosphere.

From the idea to the experience: presentations by the team of Figure

One of the great attractions of the event was to have part of the team of Figure in person. During the central talk, entitled From the idea to the creation of experiences, we were able to learn more about how they work internally in product design, development and communication.

Here are some key lessons from each rapporteur:

Maria G. Gaston — Product Designer in Figure

Maria opened the session sharing her focus on how to design product in Figure. He spoke of the importance of aligning vision, research and quick prototypingas well as how multidisciplinary teams work within the company.

He stressed the need to create collaborative flows between design, development and content from very early stages of the project. A highly aligned approach with agile methodologies, where design is a strategic part of the business, not just visual execution.

Ivan Slobodiuk — Software Engineer en Figure

Ivan provided a technical vision that was key to understanding how product construction is articulated from the development side. He explained how designers and engineers work side by side in Figure, emphasizing the use of internal tools that allow quick validation of ideas and efficient scaling of functionalities.

He also showed us concrete examples of how his team has addressed the construction of some recent features of Figurewith an iterative approach, continuous testing and constant feedback of the community.

Hugo Raymond — Designer Advocate in Figure

Hugo closed the talk with a powerful reflection on the importance of creating people-centred experiences. As Designer Advocate, your role is to understand in depth how you use Figure teams around the world and transfer that knowledge to the product team.

He told us about the balance between consistency, innovation and scalabilityas well as the need to build tools that enhance creativity without limiting it. He also shared lessons on how to encourage the use of Figure in diverse communities, and how that impacts directly on the roadmap of the platform.

A high-level networking: music, art and community

But if anything made this edition of the event really unforgettable was the final networking. The terrace of Casa Rius was transformed into a meeting point where creativity was lived in all senses.

We had a spectacular catering, bar with drinks, atmosphere with Live DJ, a photocall to capture the moment and up an artistaza live, Lorenapainting during the night. A celebration that was much more than a technical talk: it was a true community experience.

Designers, developers, makers and curious were mixed in a night where inspiration flowed in each conversation. Undoubtedly, a reminder that the best projects are born when we share, listen and connect beyond our screens.

The event Figure meet Friends of Figure Barcelona 2025 Not only did he meet expectations, he got over them. Have a chance to meet the team of Figure, understanding their processes and sharing that knowledge with the local community is a privilege that is rarely repeated.

Thanks to the organizing team for taking care of every detail and for continuing to encourage such meetings. And thanks to all the people who make Barcelona remain an epicenter of design, technology and innovation for purpose.
