Last Thursday, I had the opportunity to attend an amazing event in Palo Alto Barcelona, where Carla and Carlos from the Nacar presented a revolutionary view of e-commerce using spatial computing. As a designer, I always wonder: How can we improve online purchasing experiences? And the answer they gave us made me impressed.
Innovation in e-commerce: From physical to immersive
E-commerce has always faced the challenge of offering an experience comparable to that of a physical store. During the talk, Carla and Carlos showed us how the Extended reality (XR) can close that gap. Using this technology, users can now interact with products in a virtual way, recreating an experience similar to physics but from the comfort of your home.
A clear example of this is the project they developed to HP, where you can explore a laptop in detail through a virtual immersive environment. This capacity to view and experience products In such a realistic way it is completely changing the way we buy online.

The use of extended reality (XR) to improve user experience
One of the most interesting parts of the event was to discover how the Nacar team uses tools like Figma to design 2D interfaces that are then integrated into workflows of XR. Use of Figure For these projects it shows how design tools are being adapted for new technologies and what will come to us in the coming years.
This approach not only enriches the purchase experience, but it also opens a world of possibilities for designers and developers who seek to bring e-commerce to another level. Thanks to the Extended reality (XR), users can interact with real-time products, significantly improving decision-making when purchasing.
An event to inspire and connect
The event was not only an opportunity to learn, but also to connect with other design and technology professionals. After the talk, we could share ideas and have a beer while discussing how these technologies could change the future of e- commerce. It was certainly an enriching experience that left me with the feeling that we are entering a new era of digital trade.

I left with the feeling that the future of e- commerce is here, and it will be more immersive and enveloping than we imagine.
If you ever have a chance to experience this kind of technology, I encourage you to do it! It'll change the way you see digital trade.
