On April 24, I had the opportunity to attend a exclusive workshop organized by Friends of FigureBarcelona with the talented designer Pablo Stanley. This event brought together a vibrant community of designers, developers and creatives from various areas, all with a common interest: learning and sharing ideas about current trends in design.
A Collaborative Learning Workshop
The event focused on explore new techniques design using tools like Figmaas well as discussing the challenges we face as professionals in this industry. One of the most important aspects was direct interaction with Pablo Stanley, who not only shared his experience, but also showed practical examples that helped demystify some complex design concepts.

Key concepts addressed
During the workshop, we addressed key concepts such as real-time collaborationthe creation of efficient design systems and the importance of a good communication between designers and developers. Paul emphasized how Figure facilitates this process, allowing teams to work more smoothly and productively.
During the workshop, we work on various fundamental aspects of design, including:
- Autolayout Basics: We understand the basic principles of self-help to create more flexible and efficient designs.
- Overlapped Elements: We learned to handle overlapping elements and control their behavior within Figure.
- Create a Grid with Auto Layout: We create a grid using autolayout, thus optimizing the layout of elements on our interfaces.
- Truncate Text: We explore how to effectively truncate text to maintain visual consistency without losing key content.
- Using Variables in Prototypes: We discovered how to use variables within prototypes to energize our interactions.
- Can Change Variants: We investigate how variables can modify variants within the same component, making it more versatile.
In addition, Pablo Stanley shared the resources we use during the talk, as well as other interesting materials in their profile of Figure @ Pablo.
My personal experience
The workshop was extremely cool dynamic and creativewhere each participant was able to contribute their ideas and receive direct feedback. It was an ideal space to make networking, connect with other professionals and share projects and ideas.
Personally, I left the event with a new perspective on how to optimize my workflow as a designer, especially everything that had to do with techniques more focused on the topic of Prototype. The techniques we learned are not only practical, but also inspired me to explore new forms of design collaborative. This event has certainly been a milestone in my professional and creative growth.
If you could not attend this event, I encourage you to be attentive to the next workshops. Friends of FigureBarcelona. The community continues to grow and events are an excellent opportunity for learn, connect and grow as a professional.
Besides, if you want to keep learning, on Pablo's YouTube channel, Sketch TogetherYou'll find many resourceswith which you can deepen in design and prototyping techniques.
