Accessibility of a Friends of Figma Barcelona Event

On April 24 we had the pleasure of living another unforgettable event in Friends of Figure Barcelonathis time in the inspiring space of Aticco Workplaces. Under the title "Accessibility OPS: From theory to practice"The amazing. Arantxa Hernández, Head of Accessibility at Flat 101, offered us an essential talk for any digital design professional.

What are we talking about at the Accessibility event?

Design thinking about accessibility is not optional. It is an essential pillar of any well-made digital product. Arantxa reminded us that:

✅ Accessibility is not a matter for the development team at the end of the process.
You must be present. from the project strategy and definition, involving design, research, product and business.

✅ Organizational culture matters.
Arantxa shared how to make accessibility part of a company's DNA. From internal training to the definition of documented good practice.

✅ Practical cases in Figure.
He showed us real examples with notes, use of ARIA, order of reading and management of the focus. A luxury to see how all this is applied in technical detail and strategic vision!

✅ Accessibility as a user experience.
It's not just about compliance. It is to create more inclusive, intuitive and just products for all people.

Personal reflection on Accessibility

Once again, Friends of Figure Barcelona does not disappoint. Beyond the content, which was spectacular, the most powerful is community energy that is breathing: reencounters with women I admire, deep conversations and that perfect mix of learning and affection that only occurs when we share from the heart.

I have a powerful idea:
 "To design accessible is not a checklist. It is a way of thinking, working and caring."

Thanks to Arantxa for showing us not only the howbut also the Why?. And thanks to the entire organizing team for continuing to drive spaces where we can learn, question, grow and... laugh a lot!

But the events of Figure Barcelona is much more...

It's not just the content, that It's always top, community 
We are already a big little family that embraces, shares crazy ideas and supports itself inside and outside the design.

Yesterday was a beautiful meeting with women I admire and want: Jessica Siruno, Silvia Anguera Roldán, Lorena Ramírez, Roselly Nuñez Guerra, Clara Ibars... and the luck of continuing to share with Sara Fernández Carmona. What anecdotes came out of beer!

This kind of space reminds us why we love what we do. Because designing is also experience, get excited and keep learning together.
