Design App Energy Consumption Control

Ecocean is an innovative mobile application connected to a smart device, designed to help hotels control their energy consumption and raise awareness of the social and environmental impact of their guests. This application is aimed at hotels that care about the environment and seek to promote sustainability. Accommodation that are considered ecological and want to measure their social impact, as well as educating their guests, will find in Ecocean an essential tool to achieve their sustainability goals.

Tasks: Design and Sustainable Functionality

In the Ecocean project, I took care of various tasks focused on the creation and optimization of brand design and its mobile application:

Logo and Brand creation: Development of an Ecocean logo and visual identity, ensuring that it reflects its ecological and sustainable approach, taking into account the scope of application.

Mobile Application Design: Complete design of several pages of the application, integrating key functions for the control and awareness of energy consumption. Always taking into account that this application will be controlled from mobile devices and that it will have connectivity with an external control device.

Design Eco-friendly and sustainable logo

The logo of Ecocean has been carefully designed to reflect the mission and the values of the application. Note that it is a connected mobile application that will be connected to a smart device that will allow you to control the energy consumption of the hotel and raise awareness of the social impact of all hotel guests. Therefore, I have always sought to represent the values of the brand, focused on:

• Reduce the consumption of light and appliances used in the hotel's rooms and different spaces.
• To give importance to the use of alternative energy to reduce consumption and environmental impact.
• Inform and raise awareness of the negative effect of excess consumption.
• To be responsible for the impact of waste generated by the different industries specifically from hotel complexes.

The colors of the brand have been a combination of green and blue with the intention of being able to show the values defined above:

• Vibrant green (# AFD139): This green tone symbolizes nature, freshness and sustainability, evoking a direct connection with the environment and ecological practices.
• Vibrant blue (# 00C0D1): Blue represents calm, trust and water, an essential element in any ecosystem. Together, these colors create a visual identity that transmits an ecological and modern air.

The choice of typography Robot ensures a clear and modern reading, providing a touch of simplicity and professionalism to the design, without moving away from previously defined messages.

In addition, other combinations of the logo have been made only with the most visual elements such as fish:

If we look at the icon in detail, we can see that it is represented by a fish, whose tail is transformed into a plant leaf. This design symbolizes the fundamental values of the brand: sustainability, harmony with nature and connection with water.

The fish represents the ocean and the commitment to marine life, while the leaf symbolizes environmental responsibility and the ecological approach. Together, these elements perfectly reflect Ecocean's name and mission, merging the concepts of ecology and ocean in a single icon.

Design App sustainable

The implementation has been designed to be fully adaptive, ensuring that all elements are accessible and functional on mobile devices and tablets. This is crucial to ensure that both hotel administrators and guests can interact with the application efficiently, regardless of the device they use.

Each page has been designed with a focus on usability, ensuring that navigation is intuitive and that information is organized in a clear and accessible way. The integration of graphics and visual data facilitates understanding of energy consumption and promotes awareness in an attractive and educational way.

The following is the design of the application:

I present information on the pages created and the purpose of each of them represented:

Home page:

• On the Home page you can see a collection of the general consumption information made at the hotel or establishment.
• In this way, the user may have a preview of the consumption performed according to the type of household or consumption element.
• I have incorporated small color labels, which allow the user to see quickly whether the consumption has been positive or negative. That is, whether consumption has been increased or reduced.
• On the other hand, you can access the different categories to expand the information we find in these.

Seeker:

• The search engine is one of the most useful tools as it allows you to find different types of appliances and know your product specification.
• In this way, if the user is considering the incorporation of a new element, he or she will be able to assess in advance what is the most efficient in relation to consumption.
• On the other hand, other searches can also be carried out, such as training topics, which allow for the expansion of knowledge regarding energy consumption and sustainability.

Image scanner:

• The scanning tool is the one that allows us to directly scan a bar code to record that household in our application.
• In addition, once we register the bar code, this will allow us to access your relevant technical data sheet and to expand our knowledge of the product.

Learning Section:

• The learning section focuses on expanding the knowledge of the hotel's employees but also of the owners. In other words, it seeks to be able to form in the sustainable field and to lead a much more efficient life philosophy.
• In this way, the user will be able to find a wide selection of topics that will allow you to know and expand your information.

Profile:

• In the case of the Profile section, we find the different consumption charts represented in a summary way.
• In this way, the user can know in a very visual way the summary of information related to his activity.
• You will also be able to access the configuration section to set up what type of information you want to be shown in the hotel's technology device.

Product Sheet (Electrodomestic):

• In this page we can find the product data of a Washer. In other words, at the time the user is looking for a product, you can know the product specification with all the specifications.
• It will also have recommendations related to the type of product that can help you reduce the consumption of the product or even use it more efficiently and responsibly.

My appliances:

• When we access our profile, if we enter the configuration we can see all the appliances we have registered from our establishment.
• This allows us to know the number of items registered and change it in case we no longer have it.
• In addition, at the bottom it has the new scanning button, which opens the screen directly and we access the scanning of a new product bar code.

In summary, the project Ecocean work has been done to establish a strong visual identity and an efficient and educational mobile application. Through a well thought out design and careful execution of each of the pages of the platform.
